Dress Code Policy
Yes, we have a dress code... this is a formal event at a formal venue.
Ladies - a formal dance is the perfect opportunity to wear a beautiful full length gown and we highly encourage you to do that! However, if you feel more comfortable with a shorter option, dresses are to be at or below the knee. No super high slits, ultra revealing/see-thru parts, goth wear, etc. Thin spaghetti straps, one-sided straps, and some strapless options are fine as long as they remain formal and classy. Dress shoes are the preferred option upon arrival, but you may bring socks, flip flops, sneakers for when the dance floor opens later in the night.
Gentlemen - formal attire is required: nice dress pants, a buttoned dress shirt with a tie, and dress shoes. A full suit is the preferred option, but jacket is not required. As for dress shoes, we do prefer them upon arrival, but we also understand that it might be difficult to find them. You may wear new, clean, trendy sneakers IF that is your only option. Remember: absolutely NO khakis, jeans, work pants, goth wear, gym pants, etc.
*Special Note* - male guests are not allowed to wear dresses/skirts/high heels and female guests are not allowed to wear suits/pants/sneakers to this formal event.
Parents!!! Please do your part in making sure your children's attire is modest and in alignment with the dress code. We have absolutely no problem asking someone to go home and change if they do not adhere to this policy.
If you don't agree with this policy, you might want to hold off on attending the dance.
If you have any questions or concerns at all, please contact us. Thank you!
Day of Event Reminders
1) This event is planned and operated by Christian homeschool parents that want to honor God and uphold a Christian worldview in all aspects of planning this event.
2) Please make sure you visit the Magnolia Ball of PA website and thoroughly go over all of the information, especially the Magnolia Ball Banquet Details, Event Policies, and About sections. If you do not agree with anything in those sections, we strongly advise you to hold off on attending the dance.
3) ALL homeschoolers and their guests MUST have a paid ticket in their names in order to attend the event.
4) Please arrive 30-45 minutes early to take advantage of the two garden courtyard areas for pictures.
5) Check-in will start at 6:00-6:15pm. Please look for our registration table.
6) Doors to the ballroom will be locked until the start of the event at 6:30pm. Once they open, ONLY those registered and attending will be allowed through those doors. For the safety and security of our guests, parents and family members will kindly be asked to leave at that time.
7) Please encourage ALL kids to be on their absolute BEST behavior. This is a formal event at a formal venue and ANY type of disruption will not be tolerated. All chaperones will be given permission to contact parents if needed.
8) Absolutely NO inappropriate "air drops" using cell phones will be allowed or tolerated at the event. If a chaperone hears about any inappropriate content being shared through an "air drop" (or other social media outlets), parents of each attendee involved will be called immediately. Each attendee will be asked to wait in the lobby of the venue until parents are reached and the issue can be resolved.
9) There will be 1-2 chaperones (provided by the MagBall Planning Team) at each door and each station around the ballroom with added help and security provided by the venue.
10) We will have a professional photographer for 2-3hrs during the event. They will take portraits and candids throughout the night and will share them with a link and password sometime after the event. We will also have a Photo Booth from Awesome Entertainment NJ set up 7:00-10:30pm for the kids to enjoy. The owner will give us a link and password to view those photos as well.
11) We have a Facebook group (Magnolia Ball of PA) and an Instagram page (Magnolia Ball of PA) and will be using the hastags: #magballofpa and #magball2025 for the kids to share pictures.
12) We will be honoring all of the "Class of 2025" seniors during the event.
13) If your child is arriving late OR leaving the event early, you MUST contact us with that information. If arriving late, we need to know the child's name and timeframe. If leaving early, we need to know the child's name, timeframe, and the name of the parent/guardian picking them up. Please know this is for security purposes only.
